Over 40 craftspeople and makers will gather in one tent this September to give demonstrations and teach everything from knot-tying, blacksmithery and leatherwork to sketching and mosaic making for the 3rd Good Life Experience Festival.
At the heart of the festival is a break from mass consumerism and all that it entails: from phones and laptops to social media and internet shopping. People want to connect with simpler things, and The Good Life Experience has done something about it and as a result, has just made Conde Nast Travellers magazines list of Best Festivals In the World.
The programme is packed with music, food, books, talks and the great outdoors too. Festival co-founder, singer, author and broadcaster on the most listened to digital radio show in Britain, Cerys Matthews, will again curate an unbeatable and eclectic music line-up. There will also be campfire-side talks with adventurer and educator Ben Fogle, and inspirational campfire cooking displays from Fabulous Baker Brothers Tom Herbert, Genevieve Taylor, Thomasina Miers and Trish MacCurrach.
Family-friendly, pet-friendly and with the majority of activities going for free, there is truly something for everyone. You can enjoy endless free rides on the vintage fairground, take part in child-friendly climbing, abseiling, axe-throwing and archery, listen a whole host of inspiring talks, learn how to whittle a spoon and watch amazing musicians perform late into the night – all in one weekend.
The Good Life Experience was founded in 2014 by four friends, broadcaster and singer Cerys Matthews, ex-teenage punk rock singer and now artist manager, Steve ‘Abbo’ Abbott, and founders of homewares brand Pedlars and farmers, Charlie and Caroline Gladstone.
