A GREAT HAMMERSMITH PUB
Our popular gastropub the Thatched House offers friendly locals and visitors a place to lounge in front of the fireplace and sip on a beer or wine. There are tables for couples and families to enjoy fine dining. Our large private room is ideal for parties and live music performances featuring local and up-and-coming artists. There is a large outside garden terrace. We are a short walk from Ravenscourt Park underground station. Hammersmith and Goldhawk Road underground stations are a 15 minutes walk, and the 266 bus stops right outside. We will ensure you feel right at home upon arrival.
LONDON TIME OUT SAYS
‘Drinks and food are given equal prominence at this good-looking gastropub on Dalling Road, in Hammersmith. Both are served in a venue that gets the classy boozer look pretty much down – think chesterfields, leather armchairs, a roaring fire and lots of impeccably reclaimed wood.
‘There looks to be plenty of adventure on the food menu, with dishes ranging from a cassoulet with slow cooked duck, pork belly and Toulouse sausage to pan fried cod fillet with scordalia, cavolo nero and pickled beetroot, with a fresh mint and lemon yoghurt dressing. Steak and chips, poshed-up pies and a decent looking burger offer more recognisable pub-grub staples.
‘The wine list covers worlds old and new, with a good number of good bottles available by the glass thanks to a Coravin wine system. A more than healthy range of ales are on draught, with big-hitters alongside those from smaller, local brewers.’
HAMMERSMITH PUB HISTORY
Built in the 1850s, Thatched House was the last pub in London to be serviced by the dray horse from the Wandsworth brewery. Since that time, the pub had undergone many alterations, with many of the beautiful original features being lost or covered up along the way. When it was bought from a big chain in 2015, The Pub Doctor was tasked with restoring it to its former glory.
